Stop the World for Gaza

For decades, the Palestinian people have warned us of the genocidal nature of the entity. In these dark times, as famine is used to punish Gaza’s besieged population, we are once again reminded of the savagery of Zionism. With the faces of emaciated children on our screens, the moral depravity of the usual cheerleaders of Zionism is becoming clear for all to see. This week 10-year-old Yazan Kafarneh succumbed to his hunger, joining 20 children who starved to death. With their backs against the Egyptian wall, 1.8 million Palestinians in Rafah face the horror of a genocidal army led by the world’s most vile war criminals.

The entity’s most ardent supporters in Washington are rushing to save what little remains of their credibility, after months of supplying weapons of death and unlimited diplomatic support to genocide a besieged people. Instead of putting an end to genocide and famine, shameless imperial leaders and their regional stooges are airdropping crumbs to starving parents desperate to calm the bellies of their children. Biden now vows to build a sea bridge to deliver more aid, all while furnishing the genocidal Israeli military with bombs that kill the hungry and the satiated. American complicity has never been clearer.

Failing on the battlefield, Zionist forces are compensating by punishing the Palestinian people. And yet, resistance remains strong. 150 days of genocide, and a people’s resistance endures in the rubble of their cities, still fighting to defend their territory, with no sign of abating. In the Lebanese hills north of the occupied lands too, resistance forces are striking  Israeli war infrastructure and its soldiers’ staging posts. The Yemeni resistance continues its counter blockade. From Iraq, daily drone attacks continue on Zionist installations. Meanwhile a quietly rising giant is also making its voice heard. Operations in the cities of the West Bank are increasingly becoming more sophisticated, despite execution campaigns and mass arrests. The youth of Palestine and the region have chosen to shake the yoke of imperialism. We must, as people of conscience, recognize that the process of liberation will be led by the Palestinian people themselves.

In the imperial core, our movements are growing in strength and confidence. This past weekend, 500,000 protesters took to the streets of London, in clear defiance of the political class. Meanwhile, British politicians undaunted by their moral collapse are whipping up Islamophobic tendencies. In the US, hundreds of thousands made their voices heard, choosing to vote “uncommitted” rather than endorse a second genocidal term for the aging president, in a protest vote of no historic parallel. In response political leaders continue to disparage the people’s protests. In the US, Israeli-trained Blueshirts of the NYPD are brutalizing and arresting peaceful protestors in a clear attempt at intimidation. The imperial leaders have deployed all the techniques to oppress and limit civil liberties, making a mockery of supposed law and justice-based orders. The people remain undeterred. This week, the movement disrupted and exposed Biden and Harris wherever they went; we took action in front of the weapons manufacturers; and we mobilized repeatedly against the Zionist settlers trying to sell off stolen land from thousands of miles away, forcing one to cancel their auction.

At this pivotal moment in the history of imperialism, it is necessary to remind ourselves that the war being fought in Gaza is a multi-front war. Its fronts extend beyond the sands of Gaza and the waters of the Red Sea. The imperial front is in New York, Washington, and London. We here in the imperial core have our own tasks and duties in this genocidal war, namely to accelerate the contradictions and political crisis for the warmakers. Never forget that Palestine is a local issue, for the laboratories in which the tools of oppression deployed against our movements are tested in are the cities of Palestine. Now is the time to stand firm.
